Week 5 - Applying our learning 'Makey Makey style'
This week we decided to make our own instruments from paper, cardboard and 'bits and pieces' we found around our classroom. We used our knowledge of Makey Makey to turn them into 'real' musical instruments.

IT this week:
1. We are focusing on Narrative Writing this term. This week we have been looking at characters and how to write a detailed description. Your task this week is to create your own "personal characteristic description" for someone we all know. Start by focusing on their face, then work your way down to describe the rest of them. See Mrs Clay's example on the writing wall for more detail.

2. Once you have finalised, reviewed and published your personal characteristic description, you can continue to work on your Inquiry presentation.

Week 3 / 4
On Friday we experimented with the 'Makey-Makey's' Mrs Clay has been telling us about. We created designs using pencils, and we used our knowledge of conductivity and circuits to play a piano using only the drawings we did. There was lots of problem solving and working out the different factors involved. We had a great time!

COW task: click on this link to complete. Build a 3D shape we have been studying in Geometry - or a 3D object in your chosen country.

Term Three - Inquiry Study into Country Comparisons
Today we looked at some great footage comparing how others live their lives.
We looked at how children get to school around the world; what families spend on their weekly food budget; what children's bedrooms from around the world look like; as well as playgrounds from around the world.

Have a think about what country you would like to investigate. Choose a country you know NOTHING about - that way you will be certain to learn lots!

This link will take you to a site which compares NZ to countries around the world.
